Horse Training & Riding Instruction
Jessica Ludlow has been riding horses for over 30 years and has successfully trained and shown through Third Level in the United State Dressage Federation (USDF) on horses she's brought up from initial backing to seasoned competitors. Continuing education is very important to Jessica and she's currently in the USDF "L" Judging Certification program and clinics regularly with Kari McClain (FEI 4* Judge, USEF "S" Judge). Jessica has received rider awards at Training, First, and Second levels.
Jessica had the wonderful experience of weekly lessons for two years with the late Sonja Vracko (USEF "S" Judge) riding a FEI schoolmaster that really allowed Jessica to learn to ride the upper-level movements and soak up Sonja's training methods. Sonja’s dedicated, methodical, and kind approach to training and coaching had a profound influence on Jessica. Jessica was able to take the skills she acquired riding with Sonja to go on to ride for a Dutch Warmblood breeding, training and sales facility in Texas. Jessica has been a working student studying dressage under several FEI trainers and has had the opportunity to regularly ride horses trained to the highest levels of the sport. She has a calm, kind, and analytical approach to teaching, using the dressage training scale and the level system to improve a horse and rider’s skills. Jessica a registered Professional with the USDF, US Equestrian, and Western Dressage Association of America (WDAA).
Jessica is licensed and insured, SafeSport and CPR/First Aid Certified. Jessica can travel for lessons to areas within 30-minute drive of Woodinville, WA and partial or full training spots are available in Snohomish, WA. School horses are not available, riders must have access to their own horse.
Jessica loves building the confidence of horse and rider and believes riding should be harmonious and joyful. Dressage can sometimes seem intimidating, but its principles can be used to develop horses anyone would find pleasurable to ride.
